= Craftsman "100 Series" Table Saw =

Model No: 113.27520

This saw was brought home as part of the workshop that was being sold off and was local to me. The original owner of these tools took great pride in his equipment and many of the tools were mounted on hand made oak tool stands. I now own two of these oak stands myself and plan to use them in my shop. This is a Craftsman saw built in the late 1950's and sold as their "100 Series" and toted as quite a nice saw in it's day. The saw came with many jigs and options including a nice hand made roller stand. The saw does have the optional motor and where it sounded just find I found the side opposite of the pulley had some play in it. It appears to have spun a bearing at some point and although the bearing felt good, it should have a 17mm shaft bore and the shaft was 16.65mm. I was able to source a 16mm x 40mm x 12mm bearing from  Accurate Bearing Co. for a very low price. (Ask for Lynne) I do have to remove the extra 65cm to make the new bearing fit and I have to do this with files and my wood lathe as it's too long to fit my metal lathe. If taken slow and checked often with calipers this poses little trouble. My plan is to refurbish this saw and it will take the place of my Delta tilty saw which I decided to give to a good friend of mine who lets me use his truck every now and then. Stay tuned for more photos as I finish up the saw and enjoy it as much as the original owner once did.

This is where the saw sits now, well the extension tables were cleaned and painted in a semi gloss cast iron gray. I plan to build a much better stand down the road and I have to rebuild the rear out feed table like it had. Since these photos were taken I found that Sears still sells the spring finger hold downs. Well, I also found out that the "L" shape is made to hold one of the spring fingers like a feather board from the side. Woops!! You will notice that I am running a very heavy duty motor starter. I traded the nice switch that was on it for the OEM style switch on my Walker Turner band saw. I really like this switch on this saw and it will stay on a new stand when it's built. This saw is a dream to use and with the 1hp motor, combined with a nice Freud blade, it cuts like butter
